Ganyan ang may pakutyang sinabi ni Russian President Vladimir Putin sa isang press conference kasama si British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Sabi noon nina US President Dubya Bush, Pangulong Gloria Arroyo, at iba pang paladigma, dapat daw bombahin ang Iraq dahil may itinatago itong “weapons of mass destruction.” Sabi natin, hindi; sa halip, dapat ituloy ang UN inspection. Pero tinakot nila tayo: pati mga Pinoy sa US na mas feeling Amerikano pa kaysa sa mga totoong Amerikano, tinututulan lang daw natin ang pananakop ng US dahil hindi natin naranasan ang 911. Kung hindi raw lulusubin ang Iraq, baka mangyari ito ulit dahil nga sa may weapons of mass destruction daw ang Iraq.

At sa kabila ng pagtutol ng buong mundo–at ng malaking bahagi ng mga Pilipino sa pangunguna mismo ni Pangalawang Pangulong Guingona–nambomba ang mga sundalo ni Bush (habang nagchi-cheer sina Gloria at iba pa). Nawasak ang Iraq at libu-libong sibilyan ang namatay.

Ngayon, ganito na ang linya ni Dubya:

“It’s going to take time to find them. But we know he had them. And whether he destroyed them, moved them or hid them, we’re going to find the truth.”
