It is true that there will always be those who will never be satisfied in any system; after all, you can’t please everybody.
But the fact that discontent has translated to armed struggle over a large part of the country means that a substantial portion of the populace finds things too oppressive for themselves not to take up arms.

Of course there is always the possibility of solving the conflict through peaceful means. But chances of it happening under the present administration are almost nil, with the way the government has been conducting itself in the peace talks. Let us look at how it has violated the ceasefire agreement in North Cotabato. Under more rational leaders, like Guingona and Legarda, the peace talks have more than a fair chance.

cool ka lang din! sabi ko naman sa iyo, dios ng tutang si gloria si bush na dumidios sa bayag niyang kulubot! we may not have the right words pero mabe-blame natin dito ang gobyerno. sila ang nag-uudyok sa ating mag-himagsik ang damdamin.

while i can’t see myself directly participating in the armed struggle, nirerespeto ko ang desisyon ng mga pumili ng marahas na landas tungo sa pagbabago. para sa akin, we must exhaust all means tungo sa common vision natin. at sa balak mo, all i can say is, keep the fire burning–ipansunog natin sa mga walanghiya pagdating ng panahon. sungin ang mga mga corrupt! at sana pag ombudsman ka na, available ka lagi sa interviews sa dyaryo (o news website) ko–kailangang mabasa rin ng mga tao ang ginagawa ng mga taong pumiling ng struggle within the system. 😉

no violent comment. website mo ‘to e…hehehe…initially, i was solid anti-VFA pero when i got to talk with a ranking military official, and inamin niya na sinasadya ng mga officials na hwag tapusin ang rebellion problem kahit very capable ang military na tapusin ito dahil mababawasan ang budget ng AFP kung wala nang rebels, nadismaya na lang ako. parang sige na nga, VFA na. coz me americans daw, nahihiya daw ang mga pinoy soldiers na mag-moro-moro.
dun naman sa ugat ng rebelyon, opinyon ko, there will always be discontented sectors, no matter what the state of our economy is. but i don’t believe in armed struggle and propaganda. antayin mo, pag naging ombudsman na ako, wala akong patatawarin. ngyaiks! but really, i’m very idealistic. at the same time, optimistic din ako na we can solve the problems using the present system as the framework. we just need a change of men and change in men.
syet! ba’t di kasi tinanggap ni father bernas ang alok na maging ombudsman. konti na lang sana ang gagawin ko pag dating ng panahon ko. bwahahahaha!!!
Gago pala sila, e. Bakit hindi nila trabahuhin sa halip ang malalang paglabag sa karapatang pantao sa Timog Katagalugan–lalo na sa Oriental Mindoro?
