Starting October 6, 2019, all landline numbers with area code 02 will become 8 digits.
In compliance with the directive of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in its memorandum no. 10-10-2017, all telecom providers in the Greater Metro Manila area will migrate all existing 7-digit landline numbers to 8-digit telephone numbers.
This change applies to telephone numbers in the cities and towns of Metro Manila with the area code “02”, including Rizal Province, San Pedro, Laguna; and Bacoor, Cavite.
This migration process will start early morning of October 6th from 12:01 AM until 5:00 AM.
Once migration is completed, all fixed and wireless landline customers in Greater Metro Manila, including those of PLDT, will have 8-digit telephone numbers.
Landline numbers of subscribers of other telecommunication companies will also be changed:
Bayantel – add 3
Eastern Telecom – add 5
Globe/Innove – add 7
PLDT – add 8
We encourage you to disseminate your updated telephone number to your callers and update your details found in business cards, flyers, websites and social media.
We will make the needed adjustments to our systems to ensure a smooth transition for all our affected customers.
We are working closely with the NTC and other affected telcos to be able to provide support to our customers during the migration period.
