Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation announces the election of Senator Wigberto E. Tañada as the new chairperson of its Board of Trustees, effective September 29, 2016.
Senator Tañada replaces Ambassador Alfonso T. Yuchengco, who has been elevated to chair emeritus since August this year.

He served both as senator and congressman in the Philippine Congress. In 1991, he was with the group of senators under the leadership of then Senate President Jovito R. Salonga when the Senate rejected the renewal of the PHL-U.S. treaty on military bases.
Ka Bobby graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University, Manuel L. Quezon University, and Harvard Law School.
He is lead convenor of the Fair Trade Alliance.
He is also the chairman of the Philippine Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism, the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement, and the Lagawe Rural Bank in Ifugao.
