Dahil sa viral post ni Van Ranoa, isang piloto ng Cebu Pacific, humingi ng paumanhin kay Vice President Leni Robredo at sa publiko si Captain Sam Avila, vice president for flight operations ng nasabing airline company.
Ayon kay Avila, inamin ni Van Ranoa na walang basehan at gawa-gawa lang niya ang ipinost niya.
“Since becoming aware of the social media post by one of our pilots in reference to a flight of Vice President Leni Robredo, I confirm that the pilot has made it clear to us that he had no basis for his claim and was purely speculative and careless on his part,” ayon kay Avila.
Bago ito, nagpost si Van Ranoa sa Facebook na pinahold daw ni VP Robredo noong isang buwan ang lahat ng flights para lang maging “priority to land” siya sa Manila. Galing daw ang pangalawang pangulo noon sa pangangampanya sa south. Ayon pa sa kaniya, naapektuhan din ang Singapore Airlines at Qatar Airways.
Hindi na makita ngayon ang post na ito ni Van Ranoa, pero naging viral na sa social media ang screenshot ng post niya.
Ayon sa public flight records na binusisi ng Interaksyon, walang naitalang flight diversion para sa Singapore Airlines at Qatar Airways noong Abril. Pero may dalawang flight diversion mula Ninoy Aquino International Airport papuntang Clark International Airport noong Marso 8 at 17.
Dahil sa nag-swerve na eroplano galing Naga City ang flight diversion noong Marco 8, ayon sa Manila International Airport Authority.
Noong Marso 17 naman ay nasa campaign rally sa Zamboanga City hanggang gabi si VP Robredo. Kinabukasan nang umaga ay nasa Pagadian, Zamboanga del Sur siya, kaya malabong bumiyahe siya at nagpa-divert pa ng flight noong sinundang araw.
Ayon pa kay Avila, sumasailalim ngayon sa disciplinary review ang Cebu Pacific pilot na si Van Ranoa.
