ABS-CBN’s newest mystery-romance series “The Alibi,” starring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, turned up the heat on Prime Video Philippines where it emerged as the number one show when it premiered last November 7 (Friday).
Viewers heaped praise for the lead stars for giving life to bolder characters. One of the most-talked about scenes is Stella’s (Kim) sensual pole dance number where she was seen stripping off her clothes while Vincent (Paulo) gazed at her during their brief encounter at the bar where Stella works as the star performer.
“The Alibi” is Kim and Paulo’s second series to earn the number one spot on the list of most-watched TV shows on Prime Video Philippines, following the pair’s first title on the streaming platform – “Linlang.”
The first two episodes of “The Alibi” featured a whirlwind of heart-pounding events that stemmed from the mysterious murder of Walter (Sam Milby), Vincent’s rival colleague at his family’s news agency, and the same man who had a steamy affair with Claudia (Sofia Andres), Vincent’s wife.
The series also introduced the struggles of Stella, an ex-convict and an escort, and her life-changing gamble when she accepted Vincent’s one million peso offer to be his alibi for the ongoing police investigation where Vincent is the prime suspect in Walter’s death.
What follows is a rabbit hole of lies and dark secrets that threaten to destroy Vincent and Stella’s budding romance that all started out as strictly just a business deal.
Dive into the dark secrets in “The Alibi,” streaming exclusively on Prime Video. Two new episodes are available every Friday in the Philippines and over 240 countries and territories.
