Access to the New York Times’ website and mobile apps is free to all from today until Wednesday, its executive editor announced on Sunday.

“As journalists who have covered our fair share of campaigns, we consider these moments to be among the most important in the life of a democracy. We believe that everyone, without exception, deserves a deeper understanding of the candidates, the issues and the results of this unprecedented election,” New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet said in an email to the newspapers’ readers.

Americans will vote for a new president tomorrow, and the Times, like all other news organizations, have been covering the campaign.

“So we have decided to open our digital platforms to all — without charge — on Nov. 7, 8 and 9. We invite you to come back as often as you like to take advantage of our reporting, analysis and commentary, from the lead-up through the aftermath,” Baquet added.

Visitors who don’t have digital subscriptions can read only 10 free articles each month on NYTimes.com, so the newspapers’ fans should enjoy these three days of unlimited access for everyone.
