		<description>The Catholic Church plays a vital role in the Philippines as a whole.  It&#039;s influence today may not be as solid as the Spanish Era but still it creates a significant effect on the country&#039;s socio-civic and political aspect.  

I&#039;m not Catholic but I grew up in a &quot;Catholic environment.&quot;  What I like most about Catholicism is its push on its lay members to do good to others.  It has always been a sermon on goodwill, helpfulness and loving your neighbor.  If only the Filipinos will learn to live all of these, we could be a better nation than what we are today.</description>
