It's influence today may not be as solid as the Spanish Era but still it creates a significant effect on the country's socio-civic and political aspect. I'm not Catholic but I grew up in a "Catholic environment." What I like most about Catholicism is its push on its lay members to do good to others. It has always been a sermon on goodwill, helpfulness and loving your neighbor. If only the Filipinos will learn to live all of these, we could be a better nation than what we are today.
