About

I was born in Taal, Batangas and grew up in Santa Cruz, Marinduque. I’m an editor for an Internet portal.

Other than journalism, Philippine pop culture and Tagalog language are among my areas of expertise. I love sweet foods, and I read books on Philippine politics and history as well as those on technology and religion.

I’m a pack rat — I collect not just books, magazines, letters, and mugs, but also different kind of cards: post cards, business cards, used call cards, expired ATM cards, and even promotional pocket calendars.

I’ve never left cyberspace since I was introduced to it during my college days at the University of the Philippines, where I experimented with online campus journalism and started creating websites. I also love to write, and I’ve been blogging in Filipino and English since late 2001. In 2003, I formed an online group of young Filipinos opposed to the war in Iraq. I also have accounts on most of today’s popular online social networking sites.

I used to say my dreams come in html format, and they now stream in many other file types.
