About

I am Ederic Eder, a Filipino blogger and communications worker in the telecom, media, and technology sector. I have been been blogging since 2001 and tweeting since 2007.

Lately, I’ve been writing about Korean dramas and celebrities at Hallyudorama, your ultimate K-drama guide.

I used to be a social media manager for news at GMA Network, where I also headed YouScoop, GMA News and Public Affairs’ citizen journalism arm.

I was Yahoo! Philippines’ search editor for more than three years before returning to GMA Network, where I was previously part of the News Research section. As a news researcher from 2004 to 2008, I implemented an internal search database and managed the News Research page on GMA News Online.

My career in online journalism started even before I completed my journalism degree at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. In 1997, just as more Filipinos were beginning to use the Internet, I became the editor-in-chief of Tinig ng Plaridel, UP College of Mass Communication‘s student paper. With the help of an alumnus, I started a website for publication, which became one of the first college papers to go online.

After college, I joined The Manila Times, one of the first newspapers to publish an Internet version. I also worked for the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility as a writer-researcher and webmaster and then as a part-time reporter for Kyodo News.

After the EDSA People Power Revolt, I created the opinion website Tinig.com, a venue for free expression that advocates nationalism and supports Filipino language and literature.

I also contributed articles to Union of Catholic Asian News, Philippine Post, CyberDyaryo, Pinoy Times, Pinoy Gazette, and Dyaryo Pilipino.
