Sa gitna ng pagtutol ng buong daigdig, nagdesisyon na si US President George W. Bush na ituloy ang giyerang agresyon sa Iraq kung hindi aalis si Iraqi President Saddam Hussein sa kanyang bansa sa loob ng 48 oras. Ginawa ito ni Bush nang walang pahintulot ng UN Security Council.
“All the decades of deceit and cruelty have now reached an end. Saddam Hussein and his sons must leave Iraq within 48 hours. Their refusal to do so will result in military conflict commenced at a time of our choosing,” wika niya sa isang talumpati kanina.
Subalit hindi naitago ni Bush ang hayag na lihim ng tunay na dahilan ng pag-atake, ang pag-iimbot ng US sa langis ng Iraq:
“And all Iraqi military and civilian personnel should listen carefully to this warning: In any conflict, your fate will depend on your actions. Do not destroy oil wells, a source of wealth that belongs to the Iraqi people. Do not obey any command to use weapons of mass destruction against anyone, including the Iraqi people. War crimes will be prosecuted, war criminals will be punished and it will be no defense to say, ‘I was just following orders.'”
Tumanggi naman si Hussein na sundin ang warning ni Bush.
Nauna rito, nang mahalatang matatalo sa UN Security Council ang resolusyong magpapahintulot ng pag-atake sa Iraq ay iniatras ito ng US, United Kingdom, at Espa?a, mga kaalyado ng US sa giyerang ito.
Sa kanyang karakteristikong kolonyalistikong pahayag, sinabi ni Bush ang pakikidigma ay hindi nakatuon sa mga sibilyang Iraqi. “Palalayain” daw ng Amerika ang mga Iraqi mula sa kalupitan ng diktador.
Samantala, nakahanda naman daw ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas sa digmaang ito upang matiyak ang kaseguruhan ng mga Pilipino. Nananalingin din daw ang Palayaso na matatapos agad ang giyera sa loob ng maikling panahon.
Hindi pa rin pormal na iniaanunsyo ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang psisyon nito ngayong nagdesisyon nang umatake ang US. Sublait naunang ipinahayag ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Blas Ople na dapat tayong manatiling sumusuporta sa giyera ng US, may pahintulot man ng UN o wala.
Kung magdesisyon si Macapagal-Arroyo ang ang kanyang National Security Council na sumuporta sa giyerang ito ng Amerika at ng ilang kaalyado, makatarungang suportahan naman ang mga panawagan para sa impeachment ni Macapagal o igiit ang kanyang pagbibitiw dahil sa paglabag sa probisyon ng Saligang Batas na nagtatakwil sa digmaan.

By this shall all men know, that in the name of the peaceful and honest people on planet Earth, it has been announced this November 26th of the year 2004:
Declaration of Public Outlawship of the Bush Administration
§1. Any person who is an extreme danger to democracy, freedom of society, the environment, any other precious values of the human race or to mankind, fauna or flora in general, thereby never showing any remorse about his/her lies, wicked undertakings, election-cheatings, oil-wars, marauding, religious insanity and other evil endeavors, may be declared public outlaw for that.
§2. The Bush administration fully meets the conditions as outlined in §1 and is herewith declared public outlaw.
§3. Everyone teaming up with a public outlaw will cause an immediate declaration of public outlawship for those teaming up.
§4. Separation from the Bush administration through retirement, change of mind, removal from office or through any other cause, voluntarily or by force, does not automatically end the public outlawship, once so declared.
§5. A current public outlaw does not have any public rights at all. He/she may be made subject to harsh criticism or mockery and ridicule by anyone without the right of complaint.
§6. Criticism, mockery and ridicule may be exercised by anybody in whatever mode, manner, method, style or approach. Mockers and ridiculers may exaggerate, lie, spin, amplify, inflate, lay on thicker, overstate, overstress or twist facts to any extend deemed necessary to vividly characterize the evil character and dangerous potential of the public outlaw.
§7. Foul or vulgar language on bumper stickers, signs, graffiti or other displaying, when picking on a public outlaw, is allowed without any kind of limitation.
§8. The use of the Internet, including web sites, blogs, comments, feedback, e-mail, polls or any other instruments on the net, in use presently or in future, is explicitly encouraged for criticizing a public outlaw or making him subject to mockery and ridiculing.
§9. A current public outlaw may demonstrate through good behavior his willingness to return to the standards of civilization and can ask for resocialization. The public outlaw should also give good reasons for his/her request. Nevertheless, the society is free to decline any request without giving reasons.
§10. §9 does not apply to permanent public outlawship, which shall be endless.
§11. The Bush administration, including it’s present, past or future members, quislings and collaborators, are under permanent public outlawship.
§12. §11 shall be irreversible for our days and shall only end on judgment day when any power on earth will dissolve into nothing in the face of the Almighty and to whom we leave the Bush administration in humble acknowledgement of our own weakness.

Limp, Oo nga, heheh. Obvious naman talaga na langis yung habol ni bush sa US. Sobrang ginagamit lang niya yung attractive na kampanya para sa demokrasya sa Iraq. Bad trip nga kasi yung krisis nila sa energy dahil sa pagiging throw-away society ng america ay gusto nilang solusyunan sa pamamagitan ng panghihimasok sa bansa nang may bansa. Ganyan na nga ata talaga ang uso ngayon. 🙁

medyo dinidikta nga ng isipan ko na langis ang habol ni bush sa iraq kasi, hindi naman ganun katindi ang panggigiit nya sa ibang countries that are alleged to possess weapons of mass destruction (like nokor, pakistan, and india).
and second, ito na sana ang ultimate test sa efficiency ng UN security council pero mukhang the UNSC will fail. sayang, kasi, hopeful ako na meron nang stable body like UN na mamagitan sa peaceful resolutions ng disputes between states. parang mawawalan tuloy ng credibility ang UN at magmumukhang aloof ang america sa ibang member countries dahil parang wala silang pakialam sa opinyon ng international community. i browsed the statements of the 53 non-member countries to the UN Security Council (sa UN website) at kahit Pinas, nag-e-express ng support for a peaceful resolution.
pag natuloy man ang giyera, ang lungkot talaga. pero pag natuloy man, sana lang, hindi ito gumawa ng malaking pinsala at ma-discourage lahat ng bansa na gumawa ng weapons of mass destruction (including france, na nung 1996 lang ay lumabag sa sarili nilang declaration na hindi na sila magco-conduct ng nuclear tests. kung bush din kaya ang pangulo n’un, makikialam din kaya sya?).
