Anyways, maraming kuwento tungkol sa 666. Ang mga Iglesia ni Cristo (Manalo version) at ibang fundamentalist Christians, halimbawa, sinasabing ang Santo Papa raw ang 666 dahil sa Vicarius Felii Dei (Proxy ng Anak ng Diyos) na isa sa mga titulo ng Papa. Kaso lang, hindi naman pangalan iyon, kundi title. Saka sangkaterba na ang mga dumaang Papa. Eh, sino sa kanila? Ano ‘yun namamana ang pagka-beast? Imposibleng ang unang Papa, na si Pedro. Medyo itinatwa nga niya si Jesus nung down na down Siya, pero si Pedro ay namatay na martir para sa pananampalataya. Imposibleng anti-Christ siya. Hindi rin puwedeng si Pope John Paul II. ‘Yun bang taong iyon na walang hinangad kundi pagkakaisa ng mga nagbabangayang pananampalataya, sasabihin mong anti-Christ?
May nagsasabing baka raw pulitiko. Imposibleng si Madam Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo o si George W. Bush! May mga anti-Christ bang nakakausap ang Diyos at pinaglilingkuran ni St. Micheal? Di rin puwede si Papa Ping (Lacson), kasi 888.ph ang domain name niya, hindi 666.
Mas pinaniniwalaan ko itong note sa New American Bible na nasa Vatican website: “Each of the letters of the alphabet in Hebrew as well as in Greek has a numerical value. Many possible combinations of letters will add up to 666, and many candidates have been nominated for this infamous number. The most likely is the emperor Caesar Nero (see the note on ? Rev 13:3), the Greek form of whose name in Hebrew letters gives the required sum. (The Latin form of this name equals 616, which is the reading of a few manuscripts.) Nero personifies the emperors who viciously persecuted the church. It has also been observed that “6” represents imperfection, falling short of the perfect number “7,” and is represented here in a triple or superlative form.

Funny, hehe. Pero based nga dun sa napanood ko sa National Geographic, yung numerical value ng pangalan ni Nero ay 666 and at the time na isinulat ang Apocalypse, Nero was persecuting Christians. The Christians were actually hiding their contempt for him in the Bible text.
