World No Tobacco Day

It's okay to say you mindI learned from the Department of Health website that May 31, 2005 is “World No Tobacco Day.” Looks like the event wasn’t publicized since I haven’t heard any news about it.

At the site, there’s also a signature campaign in support of Senator Flavier’s bill 1554: Stop for Health Act (Stop Tobacco and Other Products for Health)–which, I later learned, is already a law called Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003. Continue reading


“Mukhang Guilty” Raw

Mapanudyo ang hirit ng mga kongresista ng Bayan Muna– sina Reps. Satur Ocampo, Teddy CasiƱo at Joel Virador–hinggil sa kasamahan nilang si Mikey Arroyo, na ang pamilya ay binabato ngayon ng mga bintang tungkol sa umano’y kaugnayan nila sa jueteng. Ganito ang sinasabi ng press release ng mga taga-Bayan Muna:

Thus said three Bayan Muna partylist congressmen today as they assailed presidential son and Pampanga Rep. Mikey Arroyo for deciding to soon leave the country in the midst of serious accusations that he and his father, First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, are involved in the illegal jueteng numbers game.
